Patch steps for database/compute nodes.

So you’ve passed all prerequisite steps successful.You’re ready to run actual upgrade command

1-Performing upgrade.

./dbnodeupdate.sh -u -l /u01/patches/p29181103_191000_Linux-x86-64.zip -n 

-n :Keeps your current backup otherwise it takes another backup.I recommend you take backup in advance ,it helps you to save some time.

This  upgrade process takes around 1h-1.5h  but in my case upgrading to version 19 requires major Linux OS upgrade (Red Hat 7.6) and took more than 2h.

During upgrading process server goes reboot couple of times,i always monitor server reboot with ILOM.

Check imageinfo  everytime when the server come up,the image status must show success.

2-Post  upgrade step

After upgrade completed,you have to perform post upgrade step.It is basically RELINK oracle binaries.

./dbnodeupdate.sh -c
